Members in attendance:
  1. Dave Boratyn (President/Secretary)
  2. Bob Bucher (Vice President/Treasurer)
  3. James Espey (Website/Editor)
  4. Tom Ossowski
  5. Joe Beatty
  6. Tony Darrow
  7. Steve Ewbanks
  8. Matt Collinson-Pautz
  9. Ed Lorts
  10. Rick Smith

After a hearty BBQ lunch, the meeting was called to order. A sign-in sheet was passed around along with the agenda.

Previous meeting minutes for 2019 were announced and our reconciled position with our parent organization, AOAI,  is now back in “good standing”.

The Treasurer’s report was read and collection of annual dues for 2020 were announced. There was a brief discussion on the amount of annual dues, it was suggested that they be lowered.  A final decision was not made and the recommendation was tabled until next year (2021).

Yearly Avanti calendars were sold to members and Bob announced that a check was to be mailed to AOAI for the cost of the 25 calendars that we receive annually from AOAI.  It was further mentioned by James Espey that calendars are available to anyone who might visit our website and that secure payment can be made  by credit card can be processed through our website.  Also, James is working on the ability of members to be able to pay their annual dues on line.

It was further discussed and decided that the calendar pricing will be priced as follows: New Year calendars will be $12.00 through January,  February’s price will be $10.00,  March will be $8.00,  April and thereafter will be $6.00 (our breakeven cost).  James will post a notice on our website that the 2020 Avanti calendars are available along with a limited supply of 2018 & 2019 calendars for $6.00 each, all with free shipping.

The President passed out new club identification items:  A club card indicating the Third Coast Avanti Club with a 1963 and a 2007 (one of the last ones) Avanti’s pictured on the front,  along with ball point pens saying:  Avanti Third Coast Chapter.  Great new items that, we as club members, should be proud to  ‘show-off’.

Soliciting new members:  Dave mentioned that there are 61  AOAI members listed for Texas in the AOAI 2020 Membership Roster catalog, with over 20 members in the Dallas/Fort Worth areas.  This will be a subject for further discussion at our next meeting;  as to how we might encourage Avanti owners and enthusiast  to consider joining the club.

There is one Texas AOAI member,  Jerry B., in ******, Texas. He has nine Avanti’s listed.  Since Bob has the ‘same’ number of cars, he is considering a call to Jerry to see if we could take a trip up to his place and see his collection.
